To be eligible for the laptop award, all final assignments must be submitted through the provided form by the deadline. Below are the specific components and expectations for your final assignment submission.

Components of the Final Assignment:

  1. Updated LinkedIn Profile

    • Submit a link to your updated LinkedIn profile. Ensure your profile is complete, professional, and reflects your latest experiences and skills.

  2. Target Role Submission

    • Provide a link to an internship, program, or role that you would like to apply to within the next year. This should be a position that aligns with your career goals.

  3. Cover Letter and Resume

    • Submit a cover letter tailored to the role you have chosen. Your cover letter should highlight your relevant experiences and why you are a good fit for the role.

    • Submit an updated resume that reflects your experiences related to the role. Ensure your resume is polished and professional.

  4. Video Interview

    • Record a 1-minute video interview where you tell your personal story and share what you are taking away from the Future Proof Career Accelerator. Upload the video to a platform of your choice (e.g., YouTube, Vimeo) and submit the link.

  5. Startup Research Presentation

    • Create a professional presentation on a startup you are interested in working for or investing in. You can use tools or templates from Canva to design your presentation. Save your presentation as a PDF file and ensure it includes the following slides:

      • Title Slide

        • Name of Startup

        • Presentation by [Your Name, School, Year in School]

      • Company Overview

        • Name of Startup

        • What they do

        • Founders' Names

        • Year founded

        • Headquarters location

      • Founder Detail

        • Who are the founders?

        • What schools did they attend?

        • Previous companies they worked at

        • Relevant skills or experiences that make them the best team to run this company

      • Product/Service Detail

        • Detailed description of the product or service

        • What makes the product or service unique?

        • Any unique technologies used?

      • Brief Market Analysis

        • Which market are they operating in?

        • How large is the market?

        • Any trends in the market?

        • Who are their competitors?

      • Business Model

        • How do they make money or how can they make money?

      • Challenges or Risks

        • Potential risks that could affect the startup's success

        • Tell us about yourself, your interests, and your career goals

Submission Instructions:

  1. Complete all components of the final assignment as outlined above.

  2. Submit your final assignment through the provided form by August 25th, 11:59 PM ET.

  3. Ensure all links are accessible and all documents are properly formatted before submission.

EARN A LAPTOP: REQUIREMENTS FOR TOP PERFORMERS

As part of the Future Proof Career Accelerator, we are excited to announce that three outstanding students will have the opportunity to earn a laptop based on their participation and performance. Here’s how you can qualify:

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:

  1. Attendance:

    • You must attend all four live virtual sessions held on the following dates:

      • July 11

      • July 18

      • July 25

      • August 1

  2. Final Project Submission:

    • Complete and upload your final project, which includes:

      • LinkedIn Profile: Ensure your LinkedIn profile is polished and professional.

      • Resume: Submit an updated and tailored resume.

      • Cover Letter: Provide a compelling cover letter.

      • Startup Research Project Presentation: Create a comprehensive presentation on a startup you would like to work for or invest in.

SCORING CRITERIA:

  • Your final project will be evaluated based on the quality and completeness of your LinkedIn profile, resume, cover letter, and startup research project presentation.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Location: You must be located in the United States.

  • Enrollment Status: You must be currently enrolled as a full-time undergraduate student at a Historically Black College or University (HBCU).

SELECTION PROCESS:

  • The top three students with the highest overall scores on their final projects will be selected as winners.

  • Winners will be notified and awarded a laptop to support their academic and career endeavors.
